She pulls me close and hugs me tight, her tears soaking into my shirt. "I don't want our child to live like us." I tuck her head under my chin and wrap my arms around her even tighter. I'm holding on and never letting go. My heart beats fast in my chest, she knows it too, her ear pressed right over it.
