Chapter 6
When Hollie heard Will's conversation on the phone, the blood in her veins turned ice cold. She would've never imagined that Will would be the one to send her to Ivory Etiquette.
He knew exactly the kind of place Ivory Etiquette was.
A few years ago, Ivory Etiquette was exposed for abusing its students. Countless horrific cases were brought to light.
There were even dismembered remains found on Ivory Etiquette's grounds. The sight of those dismembered limbs had sent chills down everyone's spine.
However, with the help of certain connections, the news was quickly suppressed, and Ivory Etiquette did not receive any backlash. Instead, the school had expanded even more rapidly.
Back then, Hollie had been furious when she saw the news.
When Will found out about it, he immediately pulled her into his embrace.
"Don't worry, Hollie. Once I have enough power one day, the first thing I'll do is take these bastards down. When that happens, I'll make sure they'll be brought to justice."
Did Will even remember the words he had once said?
…
Hollie spent a week in Ivory Etiquette, and those seven days were the darkest in her life.
During the day, she was forced to learn embroidery and copy paragraphs from the book, "Etiquette for Women."
At night, she would be locked in a dark and cold room. She would then be beaten, stripped naked, and paraded around in humiliation.
After seven days, there was not an inch of her body left uninjured other than her face.
The teachers there would hold a cane while they asked her a single question, "Do you admit that you were wrong?"
She went from shaking her head stubbornly to nodding in submission after seven days. But despite admitting to her mistakes, Will never came to pick her up.
Perhaps he was too caught up in the newlywed bliss, too busy whispering sweet nothings to his new wife.
Or maybe he had just forgotten about her.
…
Things went on for another two weeks, and just when Hollie had lost all hope, Will came.
His face was pale as he looked at her anxiously. However, his first words to her weren't of concern.
Instead, he said, "Hollie, come with me quickly. Tiffany's currently in the emergency ward, and the heart transplant is scheduled to take place earlier than planned.
When Hollie heard his words, she didn't break down and question him. She merely nodded her head obediently.
On their way to the hospital, Will looked at the quiet Hollie and said apologetically, "Hollie, I'm sorry. I've been so busy lately. That's why I was late.
"However, things seem good, and the place isn't as scary as the rumors claim. You look fine, and you're not injured or anything."
Hollie chuckled upon hearing his words as she stared out the window in silence. In her heart, she lamented, "All of my injuries are hidden beneath my clothes. How could you possibly see them?"
The only thing going through her mind was how she could finally be free once the heart transplant was over.
Throughout their ride to the hospital, Will kept comforting her. "Hollie, once the transplant is over, I'll request to withdraw the divorce application after a few days.
"Once I do, we'll return to how we once were. I know you love me, and I love you too. So please wait for me, just wait for me a little longer."
Hollie pursed her lips silently as she listened to his words. Then, she looked at him with nothing but hatred in her eyes.
She thought, "Will, you're wrong. I don't love you anymore. My love for you had run out a long time ago. The only feeling I have toward you now is hate."
