Juliet walked away cheerfully with the small vial in hand.
The master bedroom door clicked shut—Ansel had closed it from the inside.
In the next second, Gardenia's hands were pinned above her head. Her entire body was pressed against the wall, with nowhere to escape. She could even smell the lingering scent of his shower gel on him.
Drops of water from his damp hair—still not fully dried—trickled onto her clothes as he leaned in. The cold seeped through the fabric, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Explain the drugs."
Gardenia knew he'd ask!
She was still trying to come up with a way to talk her way out of it when he added, his voice cold, "You get one chance to explain."
The unspoken threat hung in the air—she already knew the consequences.
Resigned, Gardenia shut her eyes. "Ms. Anderson said… it was to liven things up."

"She told you to slip it to me?"
