Chapter 12
Silas was surprisingly patient. He had two of his subordinates follow Bethany and help move her belongings out of her small apartment.
That apartment had been left to her by Sarah. Back then, they had sold the old house and purchased this property with a bit of extra money from Bethany.
Sarah had said that it was to be a safety net. If Bethany ever got married and things didn't work out, even if she ended up divorced, she would still have a place to call home.
Every time Bethany thought of Sarah, her heart softened. Sarah was the only one who had ever truly been good to her in this world.
Bethany placed her three suitcases in the guest room.
Jane Moses was a housekeeper at the Brennan residence and had been assigned to take care of Silas' daily needs. Silas wasn't used to having someone hovering around him, so he arranged a separate unit next door for Jane to live in, treating it as her quarters. As such, many of the other housekeepers envied her for having such a good employer.
