Chapter 74
Noah moved quickly and managed to squeeze into the elevator just as the two were entering. Bethany saw the man who'd suddenly barged in and pulled Evan protectively behind her, her eyes wary.
"Bethany, we need to talk."
There were only the three of them in the elevator as Silas was still waiting in the parking garage.
Bethany looked at Noah coldly. "We have nothing to talk about."
Noah frowned and looked down at the little boy, seemingly trying to figure out his background.
After Keira called yesterday, Noah had gone to find the principal, but Avery had been tight-lipped and refused to reveal anything about Evan's family.
Of course Noah wouldn't be able to find out. With Julian's position in the government, there were plenty of ways to protect his son's information.
Noah wasn't trying to investigate Evan. He only wanted to know who was currently backing Bethany.
