She usually even avoided saying the word "snake". Her fear of snakes ran just that deep. "Christopher! This is all an act that Samantha staged herself!" And there wasn't just one snake. Instead, it was a whole nest of them! Brooklyn pressed herself tightly against the door as she screamed hysterically, bordering on losing her mind. She thought back to the one and only time in her life that she had ever bravely faced a creature like this. It was during a hiking trip with Christopher. While resting mid-hike, she spotted a snake hanging from a tree. It was clearly aiming to strike him. At that critical moment, Brooklyn grabbed the snake and threw it off the cliff. It was a poisonous silver-banded krait. If she slipped up, she would be the one dead. Christopher had called her foolish as he hugged her tightly, comforting her over and over again. At that time, his eyes were full of affection and admiration for her. He promised that he would do everything in his power to make sure she never encountered such creatures again. She would never have to endure such fear in the future. Christopher kept that promise. He spent a fortune to install a snake-repelling system that benefited the whole neighborhood. But now, he personally threw her into a pit of her worst fears! Tears streamed down Brooklyn's face. She regretted it all. She regretted choosing him, loving him, and saving his life.
