Chapter 11
Dominic stared at Zara quietly, his gaze darkening by the second. His eyes were like a cold, bottomless lake.
Zara's skin prickled under his stare. She was barely holding her composure together.
She gritted her teeth and decided to go all in.
She walked over to Dominic and sat on his lap. Her pale arms slid around his neck, her red lips brushing close to his ear as her breath warmed his skin.
"Dominic, you've already divorced Isobel. Legally, the two of you have been over for a long time. Why not consider me instead?"
She pressed in closer, pushing her curves tight against him.
"You must've realized it by now. I'm prettier, more refined, and far better at dealing with people than Isobel ever was. I'm the one who's really suited to be your wife."
Dominic let out a low, humorless laugh. It held no warmth at all, just cold, cutting contempt.
