Chapter 15

"Stop right there! Who are you? What do you think you're doing?" Security guards and a floor supervisor rushed in, trying to drag Dominic away from the wrecked room. "Where is Isobel?" Dominic grabbed the supervisor by the collar, his voice low and dangerous. "Where did you send her?" In the chaos, someone called the police. Sirens wailed closer and closer. When the cold metal of the handcuffs snapped around his wrists and several officers forced him down, Dominic finally pulled himself back from the edge. He managed to hold onto a shred of reason. At the police station, he gave his statement with bloodshot eyes and a hoarse voice. He accused Zara of kidnapping Isobel and having her locked up illegally. The police opened an investigation. They dug through the psychiatric facility's messy records and questioned the staff, who were nervous and evasive at first. Before long, their findings confirmed exactly what Dominic had suspected. It had indeed been Zara who arranged for Isobel
