As carriages roamed the streets, Franklin tucked Demi's hair behind her ears and said softly, "Tell me honestly. What did Mother tell you?"
Demk hesitated for a long while, stuttering, before she finally told the truth.
"Then, would you like me to marry another woman?" Franklin asked, looking into her eyes.
Demi paused for a second before shaking her head slowly.
"But Her Majesty says it's to hold your position—" Demi began hesitantly.
"Don't listen to her nonsense. Only incompetent men need to secure their positions through marriage," Franklin said with a snort.
"Demi, I've told you that I'll never marry another woman in my life. I'm not sure about other men, but I only love one woman in my life," he added.
Demi was silent for a long while before muttering softly, "Me, too."
Franklin brightened up and placed his ear next to her lips, asking with a smirk, "What did you say? What about you? Say it again."
