The chief led the group into a small diner, probably around 450 square feet.
Since there were quite a few of them, they pushed a couple of tables together to make one long one.
After seating Demi and the others, the chief pulled the owner aside and spoke in a low voice, "These folks are higher-ups from the city. I brought them here because I like your food. Make sure it's clean, fresh, and tastes great."
The owner looked stunned, clearly flattered. He nodded quickly. "Absolutely! You got it!"
The chief then took his seat.
Oliver sat at the table right in front of them, facing Demi directly.
The owner personally came over to take Demi's group's order, while a waitress walked over to Oliver.
Oliver ordered one meat dish, one vegetable dish, a bowl of soup, a serving of carbs, and three bottles of soda.
"Our portions are pretty big. That might be more than you can eat," the waitress said with a smile. She was clearly someone who cared about her customers.
