Chapter 15

Colleen slowly turned his gaze on her side to look at the man beside her. Drake was standing there awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head. "I m sorry." he apologizes sheepishly, which made the three of them giggle. "Alright, try it again." Brandon suggested. They held on Drake's forearm again as Drake closed his eyes for a second as he took a deep breath before he opened his eyes to try again. Wind blew as Drake tried to dashed as they vanished in an instant. However, Colleen can't help but laugh when she opens her eyes. As Drake and Brandon did the same. Because they are back in the middle of the forest, "I guess you need to concentrate and think about our destination. Don't just say that we need to go back to where we came from." Colleen suggested. "Yes, you are right," Drake replied. "You just need to focus on our destination so it will work." Brandon mumbled. "Or else we will go back and forth to Ur's house and here in the middle of the forest." Colleen nodded with a silly laugh as they all looked around. "Okay, let me try again." Drake responds and holds the forearms of Brandon and her. This time he concentrated on their destination. He was thinking of all the surroundings and imagining the place into his mind as he thought about where they were going with a calm mind. "Allow me to count to three." Colleen shouted as she started to count, "One... two... three..." and they opened their eyes in unison and they clapped their hands while Colleen was jumping in excitement. "You finally did it," Colleen shouted as she looked around to see that they were back in the familiar living room of her apartment. Brandon entered the kitchen, grabbed three cans of beer, and hurled them at Drake and her. "Thank you for assisting me throughout this time. I couldn't have done anything without your help from the start. In fact, I'm indebted to you; without you, I'm sure I'd be dead, like my mother and sister." Drake narrated with a sad smile. Afterwards, he sat next to Brandon. "Don't mention it, we're happy to help you." Brandon replied. "By the way, how did you know about me being a vampire, especially when you told me about asking my parents about my real identity?" Drake asked Colleen in curiosity and kept his gaze fixed on her at all times. Colleen can tell from Drake's expression that he's curious about what she told him the night before his birthday. She swallowed a lump in her throat before she spoke. "The truth is that I can smell the blood of a vampire on you. On that very first day, we helped you. I just couldn't imagine at that time you wouldn't fight those people who beat you. And I've noticed your wounds. "It doesn't heal that quickly." She exclaimed. Drake was nodding, "Now I understand, despite everything, you never leave me. Thank you so much. I think I just need to live this life from now on. And as my father said, I need to find my brother. Though he is not a vampire, the only problem is when he accidentally sucks the blood of a human. As you may have heard, my father stated, " Drake replied. Drake stayed for more than an hour before he left and went back to his apartment. Drake had just left when Colleen's phone rang. She fished out her phone from her pocket and saw that it was from an unknown number. Colleen was about to answer the call when the caller hung up. Shaking her head in confusion, she did not bother to call back as it was from an unknown number anyway. If it was truly important, the caller would likely call back again. After a while, they heard Brandon's phone ring. She just looked at Brandon and walked to her bedroom. She pushed open her bedroom door, went straight to her bathroom, opened the shower, and went underneath the flowing warm water that eased her body. She let the warm water flow all over her body. She closed her eyes. Thinking about what happened in Drake's place, particularly the moment Drake transformed into a vampire, she hears Drake's words, or more accurately, she can read what is going through Drake's mind. She shook her head. She took the shampoo and applied it to her hair. She stayed in the washroom for less than half an hour. She had just exited the washroom when she heard a knock on her door. Before opening the door, she made sure the wardrobe was properly fastened around her waist. Brandon had a sad expression on his face, which she noticed. "What happened?" She inquired about my concerns. As she felt her heart beating so fast inside her ribcage, she could sense that something had happened to their pack. Based on Brandon's facial expression. "My father died a few minutes ago when a group of rogues came to attack the pack. My father died, and Alpha was seriously wounded. They're asking us to go back as soon as possible. " Brandon exclaimed. She felt her heart skip a beat at what she heard in Brandon's words. "Alright, prepare our staff and we're leaving right now." She ordered it after she closed the door and changed her clothes and packed her things. They were already sitting on the train, returning to their packs, in less than an hour.Since the train was the only transportation available for them to ride, riding on an airplane took them a long time to get a ticket. And, unlike a train, waiting is available at any time.It was already ten in the morning when they arrived. And from the main city of Edmundo, they needed to ride in a cab to drop them home. While they're getting closer, she can smell the same scent as a few years ago. And she felt her wolf whimpering again. She's looking outside of the car window. When she saw what was going on outside, she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces.
