Chapter 129
The road was blocked, and the only way up the mountain was on foot. He'd only given Louise one hour to make it.
"It's at least a twenty-minute walk. There's a tree up ahead that got knocked down during the typhoon a few days ago-still right across the road, no one's even tried clearing it."
While they were still talking, Robert stepped out of another car parked not far off and walked toward them.
"Call the special ops unit. I want them here in five. Get the car moving," Robert said, barely glancing at the fallen tree before giving the order.
Just a few meters away, Louise caught the faint sound of a familiar voice and instinctively turned around.
Robert was about to head back to his vehicle when his gaze brushed against a pair of surprised eyes. He froze for a beat, recognition dawning.
He gave her a distant nod but didn't come over to say anything.
"I think that's Robert," Ian murmured by Louise's ear.
