Chapter 155
After the nurse left, Dominic pulled a blanket from the side and climbed onto the bed. This was a premium room, and the hospital bed was bigger than the usual ones.
"What are you doing up here?"
"Keeping an eye on you up close. You really don't make it easy for people to relax."
He tucked the blanket snugly around Louise's arms and legs, making sure she wouldn't get cold. It was already late, and the temperature had dropped quite a bit.
Her hands and feet were icy. Dominic took her hand and wrapped it in his, warming her with his own body heat.
Feeling his warmth and care, Louise's face softened. Her heart, which had been beaten down and scarred, seemed to slowly thaw.
"I've just had too much going on lately. That won't happen again."
There was no way she'd let herself collapse so easily-not when so many were waiting to see her fall. No matter what, she had to push through.
"If you're that busy, you should let me help. Anyway... I found something. I meant to give it to you earlier."
