"Looks like it's gonna rain soon," Lucy said, clutching the bag of peaches she just bought, raising her head to glance at the grey sky above.
They were near a construction site, so there were always people hanging around nearby selling fresh produce or snacks.
Lucy got lucky this time-she spotted a farmer selling homegrown peaches.
Since these were early peaches that hadn't hit the market yet, they were quite a rare find, especially here. Seeing how fresh and plump they looked, Louise told Lucy to grab a few extra.
"Let's get going," Louise said, rubbing the back of her neck, which felt a little sore. She was ready to leave.
"Louise!" A voice behind her called out-familiar and clear.
She turned around, confused, only to see Lucas striding quickly in their direction.
"You and Dominic should come home for a meal sometime," he said straight to the point.
Louise raised her brows, clearly puzzled.
"There's no one at home anymore, and she's not been doing so well mentally."
