Dominic pulled Louise out of the restaurant in silence. Even after they got into the car, he just shut the door without saying a word. "Sorry," Louise said, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, then turning to look out the window. He'd clearly walked out like that because he couldn't stand her family. Fair enough-anyone would lose their temper around a bunch like that. She tried to tell herself it didn't matter. They were technically married, but just in name. Still, thinking about how he might now have a bad impression of her because of her family made her chest tighten with frustration. From the driver's seat, he suddenly hit the gas at her apology. The car shot forward, and the wind roaring past made his next words a little scattered. "Those people don't count as family." Seeing the way her relatives treated her had really hit him.
