Right now, Dominic couldn't think about anything except Louise.
Meanwhile, Louise raised her wine glass and clinked it with Ava's, but the smile she caught on Dominic's face from the corner of her eye made her hand tremble, causing her glass to bump too hard against Ava's.
A sharp clink rang out, a little too jarring, drawing glances from the nearby diners.
"Oops... slipped," Louise said, lowering her glass, appetite gone in an instant.
Across the room, both Dominic and Grace turned their heads at the sound. Grace frowned slightly with a look of mild annoyance. "Still not quite used to Western food here, huh? Just a meal, yet some people have to stir up some noise, like that'll make them the center of attention."
Dominic didn't respond. He glanced at the time on his watch, then said calmly, "It's getting late-I should head home."
Louise would've clocked out by now. He needed to get back and cook dinner for her.
