With a newfound sense of determination, Deborah was filled with fighting spirit.
Upon returning home, she took out her account book. Although the earnings from being a ghostwriter were substantial, she knew she wouldn't have time for it next year when she entered her final year of high school. So, she had to calculate every penny wisely.
Thus, she allocated the money into different categories such as tuition, living expenses, study materials, and even daily necessities. As she looked at the meticulously recorded numbers on the several pages in front of her, Deborah smiled with satisfaction.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of the front door opening.
Jennifer was leaning against the doorway, smiling at her and saying, "Deborah, come out quickly! Mom and dad have prepared a gift for you!"
Deborah packed up her account book and said, "I have a gift for you too!"
She slipped on a pair of comfortable cotton slippers and rushed out with a large box.
