Chapter 78
The silence after Bellatrix's departure was charged with unspoken tension.
Regina gritted her teeth, anger simmering just beneath her perfect, innocent and victimized mask.
How dare Bellatrix treat her that way? How dare she look at her as less than a servant? She thought bitterly, glare in the elderly female had walked off. She had the urge to chase after her right there and then and give her a good smacking or better yet, to pick the knife off the floor and drive it straight into her heart like she had done with her mother.
But as pleasant and comforting as those dark thoughts were to Regina, she did not act in them. Those impulses, she knew now wasn't the time to carry them out. Soon would come a time when she would be able to do so, but not now.
Now, she needed to focus on the situation at hand, a situation that didn't look to be favoring her in the slightest bit.
Taking a look around, Regina watched as the servants scurried about, grabbing their back and belongings, grumbling word
