Chapter 2011
"Mr. Nightingale, are you drunk tonight?" Willow asked.
She was so startled by Ian's statements that she couldn't help but take a large step back, keeping a distance between them.
Seeing the undisguised wariness and distance in her eyes, he couldn't help but let out a self-deprecating chuckle.
She used to trust and rely on him. But now that she had lost her memories, all that remained between them was distance and caution.
Ian knew that she had forgotten her promises to him and that what he'd just said was out of place. Nevertheless, he couldn't control himself.
No one could feel his pain or understand what it was like for him to watch Willow happily fall in love with someone else from afar.
Still, it wasn't his intention to scare her.
Ian stiffly pulled out another cigarette. Just as he was about to light it, he suddenly remembered how much she disliked the smell. So, instead, he merely held it between his fingers.
"Yes, I'm drunk. I'm sorry for talking nonsense earlier." His
