Chapter 5 Cynthia saw the truth

ULYSSES ALEXANDERS POV We entered in the boundaries between Dawn kingdom and the western mountain trails and later on we will go Northwest on where my kingdom lies. (We will stay on this village for the meantime and tomorrow, we will go that mountains and continue our journey. Let's buy some foods that we can see in this village. Get down.) "What is wrong with this village..." she mumbles and looks around. She must has seen the unfair difference between the citizens in this village. I hide for a moment and turn myself into human. "What? Surprised. Little princess, not all good things that you saw in the cities and capitals are the same with province's and villages. You are really naive and easy to be fooled." I said. She made that long face more sadder. She takes off the hat of her purple cape. I suddenly wanted to take back my words. I can tell that she is surprised and affected. "I will take back what I said. I'm sorry." I said. "No. It's okay. I am indeed naive and can easily be fooled. I just feel bad and sad because of this kind of life that I witnessed...this is not my mother wanted when she is still alive..." she mumbles. "How can you be so sure about that? I heard that the past queen is a witch. That she seduced the king for her own safety and to have a place to keep." "They said that, that's what my father wants to instill on the younger generations. But still, more citizens keeps on telling that my mother is the kindest and the most loving person they've ever meet. She helped people with their farming, livestock, poultry culture and many more. The kingdom prospers because of her kindness. And it was also protected by her magic against the other three clans." "Because we are evils, is that what you heard?" "I don't think so, mother herself is not a human. I once heard to certain citizens that mother put the spell to protect the kingdom from the vampires, wolves and witches who have evil hearts and had a bad intention in entering the kingdom. They also said that if they meet any of those other races in the streets or markets, they're not afraid because they knew that they're not here to cause troubles." she said. I smiled, I believe more to what she said that the heresies ruining her name. 'Cendrea herself is a powerful and the kindest witch that ever live.' She held the tip of my clothes. I look at her. "I am afraid that some knights is being informed about us. We have to be vigilant." she said. She keeps on looking around. I sigh because of her. 'How can your daughter is like this? Weak and half witted! I can't believe she survives being her evil family in that palace. What the heck' I take off her hand on my clothes and held her palm. She look at me in surprise. "It's better to act like a normal in love couple than looking around like that. We will look more suspicious on how you act. Just walk and do things normally. We will stay here for just tonight. You will be causing more trouble on your actions." I said. "S-sorry..." she mumbles. "You need to fix your actions, the way you talk and that habit of yours. You keep on saying sorry over small troubles. You are damn weak." I said while controlling my anger. "I'm sorry. I have always been like this. I need to sorry over small matters that I did. That way they will stop punishing me and putting me in that dark smelly dungeon underneath the palace." "We will stay in this inn tonight." I said. I held her hand tightly and we entered on this inn. "How much for tonight only? We don't need service like food or any other else. We will just sleep in the room." I said. The receptionist speaks. "It will only be 4 silver coins and 4 copper coins." "Here, keep the changed." I said and give our payment. It's 5 silver coins. He smiled. "Here's the key sir and the room is 320." he said. "Thank you." she said. I pulled her again as we go upstairs. I open the room and lock it again. I closed all the curtains and look at her. "Just stay here, you hear me? I will just look around and see the situation. I will be back before the night falls. I will bring us food and drinks. Never opens the door. Ask password when someone knocks on the door to see if it was me. If he said the wrong password, you know what to do. Cast a spell or so." "What is the password then?" "Kiss of lotus." I said. She nodded. "I'll be back later." I said. I give her the key and lock the door knob before closing it. I look around and sense this place. I need to know if how many vampires, witches or other wolves are here in this village. I also need to know if the officials and knight patrolling the area are informed about what the princess and I did in the capital. I heard an interesting story as I am buying some food. "Have you heard about the chaos that princess Cynthia and a wolf did today?" a man said. "Yes. But I am relieve that she left the palace. After the kind queen died, she already suffered a lot." "I agree. I hope she will be happy elsewhere." CYNTHIA MAXIMILLIAN POV I stare on the box. I saw a scissor on the bedside cabinet. I took it and cut myself. Blood drops on the lock of the box. It brightens and starts to make creaking sounds as it is a mechanism who started to operates. Then a moment later it opens. I can't believe that it has so many things inside. It is small but I guess mother uses magic to keep these things here. I saw a book about protection spells. I decided to take that book first. I started reading it. "Mother...did you leave this because you knew that I need to protect the people you once protected?" I keep on reading when this blank page suddenly glows and a woman suddenly shows...wait—! "M mother...?" I mumbled. 'Yes, it's mother. I saw her portrait along with the trashes that they put on that dungeon. So this is her...' I touch the page and that picture of her moves as if she is being trapped inside. Tears fell down my eyes. "If you open this book or any of the books I left for you...it only means that the prophecy started. That a werewolf became your husband and you became his mate. Use these books to help you in control your power. The day that the wolf marks you as his mate is the day that you died in your father or one of his bloodline. That is also the day that your blood as a witch awaken. That my curse on your father and his kingdom started. That you lose your blood as a human and became a full pledged witch." "Mother...I'm so scared. I wanted to hug you and see you personally. I want to tell you how I suffered after you died." I said and started sobbing silently. "My daughter, I only hug you and talk to you for just a couple of days. I'm sorry if this mother of yours needs to leave you like this. That I can't even be there with you as you suffered. But I hope the things I left for you will let you feel and see how much you meant to me. How much I love you..." "Mother..." I said. I hug the book. "Cynthia, my darling, in this book is where strong protecting spells are created. You can use them during battles, wars, emergency situations. You can also cast a spell in making protection barriers from small places like villages, cities, provinces or a whole kingdom or even much wider cases. I have written some spells in this book where only my bloodline can cast them. Even if the world turns its back on you, remember not to do that. Not to the innocent lives who needed your help. Remember that, Cynthia." "Mother..." I mumbled. "You only lose your blood as a human but never lose the heart, care and love that is IN there." "I will try mother. I will try to even do the things that you have done. But I can't promise at all. I knew myself that my heart is already tainted with pain and hatred." I mumbled. "It's okay to feel hatred, to take revenge but never killed someone nor punish someone who show true repentance. Let your enemies learn their lesson, take revenge if needed but never lose hope and close your heart on them. Give chances as long as you see that they're willing to change. Never stop forgiving, Cynthia. Forgiving someone is not a choice, it's an obligation and you don't have to ask a return of your forgiveness. Don't let the tainted of hatred to control your heart. Please...remember that." "Mother, for now I didn't know if I can do that. But, I promise that I will be strong. Strong enough to do all the things that you want me to learn. Even this one, I will try to be strong enough so that I can willingly forgive person's without asking anything in return until forgiving is an obligation for me." "But first, read a booklet that will guide you on how you controlled your power as a newborn witch. The truth is, I am the only witch who possessed the pink eyes which represent of being a pureblood. So I want you to be careful because we have an overflowing power that is being feared off nor a threat in all the clans. You might be hunted away if you won't control and learn how to use your power conveniently." she said. I decided to look for that booklet. When I found it, I open it and read it first. Later on, the night has fallen but he is not here yet. 'Did he leave me because I disagreed to disown him as my husband? Oh no! I am not good in living in places like this! I have to find him!' I end up leaving our room and saw the darker side of this village which makes me even more sadder. As night falls, brothels, gambling dens and crimes are all over the places. I can see drunk men, even children who are playing gambling and even— "Stop that child! She took my wallet!" an elderly woman said. I stretch my leg and the child trip off. I took the bag and the old lady suddenly slaps him. "How dare you! You should be beheaded right at this moment! Thank you, young lady." she said. I look at the kid and read his mind. 'I'm sorry little sister. I might not go home tonight and give you food and mother's medicine as well. I'm sorry!' "If that's the case, leave this child to me. I will let him learn his lesson." I said. She is agitated. "Okay. Your lucky." she said. I put a leash on him. "Do you want to eat?" I ask. He give me death glare. We both stop as men surround's us. 'Really? Crap!'
