Chapter 818 Naomi’s Unusual Reaction
Sotiria, who had been watching from the sides, was stunned by the sight of it all.
Naomi’s personality was nothing like hers. She must have inherited it from her father—cold, indifferent, and a little domineering. She regularly pushed people away from her. Hardly anyone could capture her attention.
Garrison had spent more than a year before he could convince Naomi into gradually accepting him.
Naomi had even slapped Zachary during their first meeting and labeled him as a villain.
Yet, she voluntarily asked for a hug at their second meeting!
This certainly wasn’t because Zachary had successfully bribed Naomi with chocolates.
Naomi, who was cold to the bone, certainly couldn’t be bribed by a few pieces of chocolate. The only way to explain Naomi’s reaction was that she sincerely liked Zachary!
‘Oh my God!’
Zachary may have a deadly charm toward psychologically mature women, but he was always as cold as a glacier despite his handsome, incomparable good looks. Any kid would be frightened by the sight of him. What kid would actually like him?
‘Why does Naomi like him, of all people? No! Zachary approached me with ulterior motives. He must be harboring ulterior motives for approaching Naomi too. I can’t let Naomi develop any feelings for him!’
Sotiria quietly took a breath.
“Naomi, it’s time to go home.”
“Okay, mummy!”
Naomi released Zachary’s neck and gently pushed his shoulder with her small hands.
“Didn’t you hear my mummy? My mummy is asking me to go home. You need to put me down.”
Despite his desire to hold the little girl a little longer, Zachary couldn’t bear denying her wishes. He lowered himself and carefully placed her on the floor.
The little girl, who had received freedom, bolted toward Sotiria’s right and held her large hand with her tiny hand. “Let’s go, mummy!”
Sotiria curled her lips happily. “Mm.”
She did not look at Zachary any longer. She held Naomi’s hand and walked past his right.
Zachary felt an indescribable sense of loss as he stared at the mother and daughter’s figures.
Sotiria would have been a complete stranger to him if it weren’t for Garrison.
The little girl, Naomi, was not connected to him at all, despite her uncanny resemblance to Charlotte.
However, why did he feel as if his flesh, blood, and soul had been emptied out when he saw the woman who had absolutely nothing to do with him walk away? Why did he feel so empty?
“The world is large, and nothing should surprise us at this point. You’re right. This kid’s resemblance to the late Mrs. Connor is uncanny. Her actions may have left a bad impression of her on me, but I like this kid. She’s cute.”
Lucas murmured infatuatedly as he stared at the little girl’s figure.
Zachary’s eyes darkened.
“You were rushing over in such a panic, saying that you saw something bizarre. What is it?”
“Uh… Well…” Lucas touched his large earring.
“Sir, would you believe it if I told you that a four-year-old kid could drive a car?”
“Hah!” Zachary responded to Lucas’s question with a laugh.
