Howard sounded a little surprised, but he agreed anyway, not wanting to upset me. After hanging up, I removed the baby monitor in the living room. By the time Howard arrived, it was already dark. He looked at me with concern, but seeing I wasn't ready to speak, he didn't push. He went straight to the couch and began setting things up as usual. "Not here today. Let's go to the bed," I said lightly without looking at him, and led the way to the bedroom. After a moment of hesitation, he followed. He didn't use any essential oils this time.
