Sebastian walked up to Elaria, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. "What brings you here?"
Elaria lifted her briefcase a bit. "Not a date, if that's what you're thinking."
His stare turned even deeper, and he offered casually, "Wanna grab a bite with me?"
But Elaria didn't play along.
She didn't even glance at Sylvia, her tone relaxed to the point of indifference. "I'm good, already ate. You two go ahead and chat. I'm heading back."
In the next moment, Sebastian caught her wrist.
He frowned slightly. "Elaria."
Elaria let out a soft laugh and looked at him. "Aren't you talking business? I'm not the possessive type, really. We're just in a contract marriage anyway. Once it ends, so do we. Who you're with? Not my business."
Sebastian's brow tightened.
He knew she was being passive-aggressive, but still, her words stung. That irritation erased whatever patience he had, so he let her go without another word.
