Elaria's grandmother still hadn't woken up. She was lying in the ICU, and the only thing separating her from the outside world was a clear glass wall.
Elaria stood outside, staring in daze. Every minute dragged on like torture.
Mrs. Harmon couldn't bear to see her like this. She'd been bringing over homemade soup, hoping it'd help keep Elaria going.
But Elaria barely touched any of it. In just two days, she'd lost noticeable weight. Her jawline had sharpened, but no matter how Mrs. Harmon tried to coax her, nothing worked. All she could do was silently stay by her side.
Liam and Selene would drop by occasionally to lend a hand.
Seeing how frail Elaria had become-hardly eating or drinking, just wasting away-Selene leaned on her brother's shoulder with teary eyes and whispered, "Poor Elaria... How could Sebastian do that to her? It's so cruel."
