Chapter 439
William Turner stepped into the hospital.
As soon as he pushed open the VIP ward door, he saw Olivia Hale sitting by the window, staring blankly into space.
A young nurse quietly told him, "She’s been sitting there forever. Won’t take her meds or let us give her an IV. Maybe you could talk to her, Mr. Turner?"
The nurse’s eyes lingered on William, bruised and tired.
William gave her a subtle nod to leave, closed the door slowly, then leaned against it, rubbing his forehead as he looked at Olivia. His voice was low, a bit worn out. "Olivia, only if you’re willing to move on can I really help you."
Olivia’s voice was barely audible. "William, do you know what terrifies me? I'm scared that the moment you step out of this room, my mind will go crazy, imagining you with Miss Grace. I know it's wrong—you and her love each other. But at the same time... I selfishly want you to myself. There’s this voice in my head, saying you're mine, that we’re meant to be."
