Chapter 79
Elaria stepped out from the top floor.
Though Sebastian had tidied up the whole apartment before he left, there was still a faint lingering scent in the air-something intimate and hard to ignore.
Snowball was sprawled lazily across the couch, those round, black eyes staring up at her.
She walked over and gently patted the pup on its head.
Elaria sat there for a long time, lost in thought on the sofa. Should she head to Synne and unravel the truth? Or pretend none of it mattered and just live in ignorance?
Half an hour later, she called Annie. "Book me the earliest flight to Synne tomorrow."
Annie was a bit thrown off. "We don't have any business in Synne though..."

At 8 a.m. sharp the next day, Elaria arrived at the Caelmoor airport.
While waiting to board, her phone lit up. It was Sebastian.
He sounded gentle, almost affectionate, as he said, "Sweetheart, I reserved the best restaurant in Caelmoor tonight. Let's have dinner-it's your birthday."
