Carlton and Calista continued to live together, but this time, for some reason, Carlton felt even more confused.
He kept thinking about Flora.
If it were Flora, who loved him so much, she would never have slept with someone else;
if it were Flora, who loved him so much, she would have noticed his restless mood;
if it were Flora, who loved him so much, she would have prepared a hangover cure for him when he was drunk.
He had been drinking to forget those things, but the more he drank, the more he remembered things he hadn’t noticed before.
