Giving Support

Quianna's POV After couple of weeks, the funeral was immediately taken care of, even the reading of my parents' last will testaments. Even if it is obviously that I am the one who will inherit everything they had, legal procedures are required for me to remain credible and reputable towards the shareholders and the society. Dylan already arrived last week, and he helped me with the needed documents and even closing mom's case. But still I did not say anything to him, except from the things that the police stated about the case. Austin and Aina are only the one who knows my plans, I know I should not keep this from Dylan. I would definitely tell everything to him when I finished doing things that I should do in the first place. "Yana, let's go." Austin said to me, and I just gave him a nod. "You don't have to go with me, though." I said to him as soon as I get in his car. "I insist." He answered and started the car. "But what did you call me? Yana?" I asked not believing what my ears heard. "Yeah, is it forbidden?" he said. "Uhh, I just thought we should continue our formal relationship all throughout." I plainly answered. "I don't want it." he nonchalantly said. "What?" I asked and looked at him. "Nothing." He just answered and focus on his steering wheel. After couple of minutes, we arrived at the hospital. I planned to talk to the doctors first before proceeding with the shareholders' meeting. Even if there is already a definite passing down of title, I need to convince the doctors to side with me not just to my dad. I entered the building and ride an elevator which took us to the highest floor of the hospital, the place where the offices of the doctors involved in the management. Let me tell you about the whole hospital building, the first 10 floors of the hospital are allocated for the hospital amenities, and other facilities. Meanwhile, the last five floors at the top of the building are where the president's office located, the doctors' offices which do have high ranking, mostly of them are doctor professors and such. In dividing based on the two sides I said, the first 10 floors are where the doctors sided with my father and the last five floors are all under my grandfather. "Yana, we're here." Austin said to me, and the elevator opens when we reached the 12th floor, where the meeting room is located. We walked through the hallway until we reached the reception desk, they all greeted us and lead the way towards the room. They opened the door and I saw couple number of doctors who are sitting in front each other and looking at me. "Welcome! Ms. Quianna!" I saw Aina's dad greeted me with huge excitement. "Hi, Mr. Lee. It's my pleasure to meet you." I greeted back and he shook my hand. We walked towards the high-ranking doctors, and I gave them a deep bow. "Why do you call us here, Quianna? Don't you know we have a lot of things to do?" one of the doctors said to me, I guess he's under my grandfather's. "I know, that is why I will say things directly. I don't want to waste your precious time." I said and they only looked at me. "Please give me all you support." I said to them. "I know I do not have any interest in this hospital or the company I will inherit but now my parents are gone unexpectedly, I don't want all their efforts to do in vain. Please teach me everything and I would do my best to react all your expectations." I said continuously. "What? You're just a kid that receives the inheritance because of the law, but you're not qualified for it." a man said, and I looked at him, he's my grandfather's best friend. "I know I am not qualified for it, that is why I am asking for your consideration and experiences to lend me a hand." I answered. "You should've study medical in the first place." I heard someone whispered. "I studied business to manage the company itself." I answered. "That's the first reason why you're not qualified. You are only interested in managing the company and not the patients and the people in it. How would you manage the hospital if you don't know anything about medical? Are you here just to have your first experience?" Mr. Grand said, my grandfather's best friend. "I will investigate my parents' death." I firmly said to them. All of them including Austin who's only listening at the end of the table shocked on what I've said. "What do you mean?" Mr. Grand asked. "Now, I got all your attention." I said and crossed arms while looking at them. "My parents are murdered. I need power, I need the company and I need your cooperation as I solve it. I haven't introduced him to all of you but he's the detective who's working for me." they all looked at Austin who is now embarrassed. "Quit being ridiculous." A doctor said. "I am not, now if you are not involved in those murders, support my presidency on the hospital and company. I am asking you for the sake of the father and grandfather." I said to them and looked at them intently. "Alright, I get what you want to say. But this is not an easy decision. Give us 5 days to talk and decide about it." a doctor said again, and I just nodded. "Thank you, I just say what I needed to say. I'll take my leave." I said and stood up. "Oh, if you want to tell something to me very urgent, please contact this detective." I said and pointed to Austin. I just smiled at him and leave the room. I looked back and I saw Austin following me, I start walking slowly to wait for him and I saw him beside me. "Why did you say that?' he asked. "What do you mean?" I said innocently. "Murder case." He answered. "I want them to feel pressure or something." I cheerfully answered. "But we promised that no one would know about it." he insists. "I know, it's not that they will really believe me." I said and just shrugged my shoulders. "You need them to support you!" he said. "I know! But it does not mean they will fully believe in me!" I yelled back. "Why are you shouting?!" Austin yelled. "You did it first!" I answered. "Wow! What energetic kids we have here." Mr. Lee said to us. "What?!" I yelled and shocked when I saw him. "Oh, sorry Mr. Lee." I suddenly became calm. "It's okay, Aina already said everything." He said and come with us in the elevator. "What did she say?" I asked. "That you look good to each other." He said with his cheerful smile. "Uncle! We are not!" I immediately answered. "Why are you so defensive, that kid is not saying anything unlike you." Uncle said and started laughing. "I think being quiet is worse than being defensive." I said emphasizing each word to him. "What? Worse? Being defensive is worst than being quiet!" Austin suddenly yelled. "Come on! How could you work with each other when you're always bickering?" uncle said. "She started it." Austin answered. "You should've said anything in the first place." I said to him. And the elevator suddenly tings, meaning we already arrived at the first floor. "I'll be going, I always say this to Aina when she was a kid, please be a good kid." Uncle said and continue teasing us. "Uncle!" I just said and he just laughs while waving his hand. "Let's go." He coldly said and I just nods. We arrived at the parking lot and get in the car. I fasten my seatbelt and continue being quiet all throughout the drive. I used all my energy during that fight of us, but I think I should use it as our mask in order to deceive them and not expecting anything from us. I know what they are all thinking, if I directly state my wants of coveting the president chair, they will start suspecting if I have ill motives over it. If they are related to the people who causes my parents' murder cases, then they will start making plans on how to kill me. If I show strong desire for something that I even know in myself that I don't want and not qualified over it, they will think it is because of my greediness. Maybe the reason why I don't want to say everything to Dylan is he is also related to these kinds of people, his connection is scary if I could describe it in one word. It is a double-edge sword wherein he can easily manipulate everything whereas it can also help me in just a snap of his fingers. If I want to see everything until the end, I need someone who has the law and I can definitely trust whatever it takes, and it all points to one person- Austin. Not just we have the same situation, but he's also seems very serious and focus on finding the real culprit. "Why are you glancing over me?" he asked while driving. "Nothing." I quietly answered. "Don't ever try doing it." he suddenly said. "What do you mean?" "Don't ever try having a crush on me." he confidently said which made me scoff. ---
