Chapter 61
Just as Zachary was about to study Amelia's expression more closely, she had already wiped away her genuine emotions. Thus, Zachary thought he had to have imagined the fleeting mockery on her face.
Zachary pulled his gaze from Amelia as though he couldn't stand to look at her any longer. Instead, he turned toward Diana. "This ends here. Stop dwelling on this and go upstairs to talk to Winter. You know how her temper is. They're probably both at fault."
Although Diana disagreed, she knew of Zachary's guilt toward Amelia. Until Amelia made another mistake, Diana couldn't afford to show any hostility in front of him.
With that thought in mind, Diana forced herself to nod. "You're right. It's my fault too. I shouldn't trouble you with these squabbles when you've just gotten home.
"You haven't had dinner yet, right? I had the chef prepare your favorites. Go ahead and wash up first. Your clothes reek of smoke."
