Amelia looked at Jayden in surprise as he took the herbs from her and smiled faintly. For someone who was domineering and aloof, he still knew how to help a woman carry things. The more time she spent with him, the harder it became to define him in simple terms. "Let's stop here," she said, snapping out of her thoughts. They had entered a narrow alley and were safe from prying ears. Jayden stopped and turned to look at her with a blank face. He said, "Go on. Why did you defend that guy? You know this isn't like any other pharmaceutical order. Getting an order wrong here could lead to disaster. Leaving someone like that working there is asking for trouble." His concern wasn't just for Tiana but for every patient who went there for medicine. Yet, his priority was to hear Amelia's explanation and see what excuse she could devise. She didn't hesitate and got straight to the point. "I think something's off about this." Jayden tilted his head to the side, glancing at her from the
