Chapter 1

A high-level bitch came to provoke me, not hesitating to use her tricks to snatch away my dream guy. She thought her actions were flawless, but to me, it seemed like a monkey show. Meeting me, she was certainly out of her league. ... Finally, I decided to confess my feelings to Christopher, my long-time crush. After dressing up meticulously, I arranged to meet him at a café. A friend I hadn't known for long, Snowy, insisted on going with me and I couldn't refuse. In the café, the three of us sat awkwardly together. Snowy seemed unaware that she had become an enormous human light bulb. She casually sipped her coffee, busy with her phone, assuring me that we needn't mind her. But I genuinely couldn't say my confession in front of someone else. In desperation, I tried to distract her: "Why don't you go shopping for a while? I'll come and find you in a bit." Snowy, however, seemed to completely miss my hint. She blinked her innocent eyes and said, "No problem, I'll wait for you!" Having no choice, I couldn't worry about it anymore. Running away wouldn't solve the problem, it would just make it harder. I nervously clutched my clothes, softly speaking to Christopher in front of me: "Christopher, I actually like..." Just then, Snowy suddenly brought a cup of tea to my lips, interrupting me. "Chris, I have something to say to you, come with me~" Snowy shot me an ambiguous glance, affectionately pulling Christopher's arm and leaving. Christopher cast an inquiring look at me, and I sighed deeply. A message from Snowy popped up on my phone: "Effy, let me help you tell him. By the way, I'll test if he's reliable for you. Don't thank me, just wait to embrace your handsome man!" There was a "good luck" emoji below. I didn't know what she wanted to do, but I knew she said she would help me confess. My mood suddenly became anxious, and I waited nervously for the response. At this point, I, who was daydreaming in my seat, had not yet realized that Snowy was pulling her high-level bitch tricks behind my back. Her target was Christopher. I waited for a while, but neither of them appeared. Isn't a confession just a sentence? Why does it take so long? I couldn't help but go to find them, but I saw Snowy coming back alone. Her expression was a bit off, clearly angry, but there was a hint of a smile at the corner of her mouth. Was this a look of anger mixed with a hint of satisfaction? Yes, that's exactly the strange expression. I hurriedly asked her, where is Christopher? Snowy looked regretful, "Effy, I didn't expect Christopher to be such a jerk. It's a pity that you've liked him for so many years." "How is that possible? What are you talking about?" Wouldn't I know what kind of person Christopher is? "Don't get excited, let me finish. I asked him if he likes you, and he said he does..." "Likes... where is he then?" Could it be that he's shy? "Hold on, Effy, listen to this!" Snowy played a voice recording on her phone, and Christopher's deep and pleasant voice came out. "Yeah, I like her because I think she's fun, I just want to play with her. Don't tell anyone." The foot I was about to step forward immediately froze, and I stood there, stunned. "Effy, don't be sad. It's just a jerk you ran into. You'll meet many more excellent guys in the future. Let's go drink, and we won't stop until we're drunk!" Snowy patiently comforted me and tried to pull me to the bar. I saw Christopher's figure flashing in the distance. I shouted his name, wanting to hear his explanation. Christopher turned his head to look at me and then angrily turned and left, without looking back, no matter how I called him. Snowy anxiously grabbed me, "Don't bother about that bastard, it's not worth it to be sad for him." "What did you say to him?" Why was Christopher so angry that he didn't even want to say goodbye to me in person? "I helped you scold him, telling him not to keep his eyes on you anymore." Snowy looked as if she was fighting for my justice. Hearing her words, I started to cry, cursing the jerk on the spot, and then dragged Snowy to go drinking. Snowy immediately helped me denounce the jerk and comforted me that I would meet someone better next time.
