Callum pleaded, "I was wrong this time. Let me apologize to you. I'm sorry that I made you sad.
"I only wanted to use this business trip as a wake-up call to you. I planned to let you realize that I need a gentle and understanding wife. It wasn't my intention for things to spiral out of hand."
Frowning, I yanked my swollen wrist from his grip with gritted teeth. I sneered. "I'm sorry, but you've married the wrong person. I could never bring myself to flatter a man."
After that, I took out the divorce papers from my bag. "I've made the asset division as fair and clear as possible. If you accept the terms, you can proceed to sign the papers.
"If you don't, I'm willing to renegotiate the terms out of your parents' sake."
Callum refused this outcome and smiled bitterly. "It's fine if you can't bring yourself to change, but I won't agree to divorce. I'll find evidence to prove that I never touched Ariel!"
I replied, "It doesn't matter. I'll go for a single-petition."
