Chapter 16
*AURORA*
“Why are you undressing in my bedroom?”
I blinked.”Your…your bedroom?”
“Yes.”
I looked around the room which was painted in black, well, it suited him.
“I didn’t know. I got splashed with wine and Janelle brought me here to change. She said this room was unoccupied.”
He raised his eyebrow, slightly.”She’s not wrong. This used to be my room. I don’t live here anymore. I just wanted to come up to relax for a while, it’s not easy putting up with a lot of people.”He replied.
I almost sensed arrogance in that statement but when I thought about it, it must be exhausting for him having people after people, wanting to talk to him, to curry favor from him.
I saw a door, guessing it was the bathroom, I tried to open it but it was locked.
I turned back to face him, still securing my dress around my body.
“If it’s not too much to ask, can you go out please?”
“Are you sending me out of my own room?”He asked.
I needed him to have a conscience right now.
The dress had come with an inbuilt bra, so right now, behind this dress which I had wrapped around my body, I only had panties on.
“I just…I need to change. I’ll be fast.”
“I don’t want to go out.”He informed me.
Ugh!
“Then can you turn around?”
I saw him roll his eyes, then he turned, his back was to me now.
“I’m curious about your body though.”
“Mr Dumont, that’s inappropriate!” I warned and quickly reached for the top Janelle had brought.
As I changed into the top, I eyed him, making sure he doesn’t turn around.
“You’re really something, Aurora. I can’t believe you paid me off twice, once in real life and once in your lie.”
I started to put on the jeans.”I wasn’t the only one who lied. You lied to me about your name.”
“What name did I tell you?”
“Damon Rivera.”
“I didn’t lie. My full name is Damon Manuel Dumont Rivera.”
I laughed.”Why is your name so long?”
He shrugged.”I guess my parents knew from birth that I would be the golden son.”
He was so full of himself.
Knew from birth?
Given a name from birth.
I wondered how Hannah and her husband felt when they held me and named me Aurora.
That name was never mine.
Isobel would’ve been my name.
I got startled when he waved his hand in front of my face.
I gasped seeing him standing so close.
“When did you…I didn’t tell you to turn around!”
“You weren’t responding. What were you thinking about? You looked…”
“Nothing.”I snapped, I turned around, zipped and clicked on the button of the jeans.
I bent to pick up my dress but I felt my arm being grabbed and I was pulled up to face him.
“Why are you acting like this?”
I ignored how his hold made me feel.
“Mr Dumont, I already apologized for what happened last night, can we just act like that didn’t happen please?”
“Call me Damon.”
I frowned.”I don’t think anyone calls you Damon. I looked up that name and I couldn’t find you.”
“I want you to be the only one calling me that.”
Oh God.
He was too close to me.
And why did it suddenly get hot in here?
I tugged my hand away from his.
“We’re going to be working together so it’s only natural that we should be formal with each other.”
“Working together? You seem confident that I’d accept the Sullivans proposal.” He took a step towards me and I moved back.
“We’re the best in the game.”
He continued moving towards me.
“I really don’t see myself working with the Sullivans.”
I frowned.”Is this still about last night? I already apologized. I didn’t mean to pay you off like that. I didn’t know who you were.”
“You giving me money was intriguing but I don’t think I’m worth 10 million though.”
I swallowed.
He wasn’t going to ask for more, right?
I mean, I would be considered broke compared to how much money he has.
“I…I know. I can’t afford you, I guess.” I said, trying to crack a joke and lighten the air but he didn’t laugh.
My back was against the wall now and he was dangerously too close to me.
“Spend a night with me.”He blurted out.
“Mr Dumont, you might have the wrong impression of me, I don’t go around sleeping with men, I’m married.”
“I know. When you agreed to a one-night-stand last night, I thought it might be something you’re used to doing but when I made my findings about you, I discovered you had a routine, work, sometimes hang out with friends and then home…”
“Just how much did you find out? Why are you so curious about my life?”
“I do not know why either. But what I do know is that I want to finish what we started last night. Maybe then, I can stop being so curious about you.”
“I don’t want to spend a night with you.” I informed him.
Knowing who he is now, I felt that I really shouldn’t get involved with him.
“Are you sure about that?”He asked, cupping my cheek.
I suddenly grew weak under that simple touch.
And he took advantage of that. He crushed his mouth to mine.
My fingers were in fists and I pressed them against his chest, trying to push him back.
But at the same time, my body grew warm with need, heat pooled between my legs,
I badly ached to just sink and give in. But I couldn't.
Too much was at stake.
I stiffened and shut my mouth in a tight line against Damon’s sensual ministrations .He seduced and cajoled, and after torturous seconds.
I found my resolve weakening under a swelling of need. To my utter disgust and chagrin, my body betrayed me, it softened, opened, instinctively, wanting to allow this man access.
Gasping with shocked pleasure, I threw my arms around his neck and pressed my breasts against his hard, powerful chest.
His hungry mouth devoured mine in a deep, scorchingly erotic kiss that left me burning with need as wetness dripped from my pussy.
I whimpered his name, my hips writhing feverishly against the huge erection bulging from his trousers.
Parting my lips, he plunged his hot, silky tongue into my mouth.
I captured it and sucked it hard, making him groan hoarsely.
He tasted of alcohol and danger.
Damon’s mouth gentled, and when he took it away, my head fell back. I sucked in a breath when I felt his mouth press hotly to where my pulse throbbed at the base of my neck. Big hands moulded my body, skimmed my curves and the jeans I had on suddenly felt constrictive.
“You taste and smell so good.”He murmured.
“It’s Jasmine.”
“Jasmine scent, hmm, I think it just became my favorite scent, you smell intoxicatingly sweet, heady, fruity, delightful.”
I’ve never had someone describe my scent like this.
“I…I made the jasmine perfume I’ve been using for years.” I said, proudly.
“You’re very talented then, is there anything you aren’t good at?”
That words filled me with joy and I blushed, uncontrollably.
“Maybe you could make a perfume for me.”He drawled.
“Maybe…”I murmured and he captured my lips with his again.
I was no longer in control of my body, I only know that this man was kissing me so good.
I’ve never been kissed this senselessly before. It felt as if my whole body was in flames and I needed him to quench the fire.
My phone started to ring.
That brought me back to my senses.
I took my lips away from his.
“I have to take this.”
He moved to kiss me again.
“Ignore it.”
“No.”I quickly moved away from him and picked up my phone which was lying next to my dress.
It was Lucien.
“Where the fuck are you?!”
He seemed to have sobered up and he sounded harsh.
“My dress got stained with wine. I went upstairs to change.”
“Get down and let’s go home. I have other important things to do tonight!” He hung up after saying that.
I slid the phone into the pocket of my jeans and picked up my dress.
“You’re leaving?”Damon asked, sounding surprised.
I turned to face him.”I have to go home.”
“What about what just happened?”
I glanced at the bulge between his legs and I quickly looked away.
I also felt aroused right now but I also felt sleeping with him wasn’t the right decision.
So I pulled the married card.
“I’m married, Mr Dumont. You should respect that.”
“Everyone literally knows your husband has a mistress. You’re staying faithful to that thing?”
“I’m married.”I pressed on.
“Then get divorced. Why are you even married to him in the first place?”
“You don’t have any say in my life.”I snapped.
He moved closer to me.”Get divorced and come be my woman.”
He sounded as if he was offering me something great and I laughed.
“What’s funny? I’m not joking.”
“From wanting to spend a night with me to asking me to divorce my husband and be your woman? A man like you will never take me seriously. So you want me to give up being a Sullivan and become your plaything?”
“You might not be my plaything.”
“You might claim to know so much about me already but I barely know you. And frankly, right now, I’m focusing on getting my life in order so please let’s forget anything ever happened between us.”
“Do you love him?”He asked me.
I sighed.
Maybe telling him I love Lucien might turn him off.
“Yes.”
“Another woman is carrying his child.”
“I know.”
“He doesn’t love or respect you at all.”
“I know.”
“Then why are you reluctant about spending a night with me?”
“Maybe because I still have hopes that I can save my marriage.”
I didn’t.
I didn’t have any desire about saving that marriage.
My mind was also made up about leaving Lucien.
I was getting a divorce on my terms, because I wanted to and not because a very wealthy man wanted me to become his plaything.
“So you’re saying you aren’t interested in me? You feel no attraction towards me?”
I did.
I had literally felt a powerful sexual urge just moments ago, ten times more powerful than I’ve ever felt before.
But I couldn’t let him know that.
We were going to be working together, professionally.
I was still reeling in his kiss. I could already see why women were crazy about him. I felt that if I become intimate with him, it might not end well for me.
So I spoke, dryly.”Attraction towards you? I only just met you yesterday. If you want sex so bad, you can go downstairs and pick any woman you want. You can even have ten of them in one night.”
His tall figure was like a mountain in front of me and the look he gave me made me freeze.
