Chapter 19
*AURORA*
“Please send an invite to the Sullivans.”I pleaded, ignoring how his touch made me feel.
“And if I don’t?”
“If you do, I’ll not be participate much in the project. Lucien is majorly in charge of it anyway and so I’ll make sure you rarely see me.”
“You think that’s going to help?”
He moved his face closer to mine and pressed his lips against mine.
My entire body instantly went up in flames.
Hot sparks of fire sizzled across my skin at the first brush on his mouth against mine.
I heard myself moaned, opening my mouth to his searching tongue.
I stroked my tongue against his, tangling it with his, sliding it into his mouth to taste him.
I moaned again when I tasted the heady sweetness of his mouth.
Oh the taste of him, the feel of him, everything about him was like a magnetic pull.
I lifted my arms to tangle my hands in his hair, holding him even closer to me.
I deepened the kiss, ravaging his mouth with my own as I drew his tongue further into my mouth and nipped, gently.
He groaned at the same time, he pressed me against himself, making me feel his hard length.
My body instantly responded to his primal call as wet heat seeped from inside me to dampen my panties as my sheath clenched and unclenched as if begging for him.
I clung to him, my limbs wrapping around him like a twisted vine.
He took his lips away from mine and kissed my neck, sucking on it.
Oh God.
Suddenly, my purpose of coming here flashed through my head.
“Please, give the Sullivan a chance.” I choked out.
And then he paused.
He moved back and stared into my eyes, looking pissed.
“You really love ruining the mood, don’t you?”
“Will you really not change your mind?”
He stared at me for a moment and then he spoke.
“Fine. I’ll change my mind on one condition.”
“What condition.”
“Get a divorce and move in with me.”
I didn’t want to offend him so I choose my words carefully.
“It’s not something so easy to do.”
He cupped my cheek.”You’ll not be my plaything, Aurora.”
I stared at him, intently.
Was I supposed to believe that?
Was I supposed to believe he’d take me seriously?
I had known Lucien all my life, yet, he left me for another woman without a second thought.
But now, I was supposed to believe the richest man in Spain would take me seriously? Someone I just met a week ago?
He was literally the dream guy of so many women. I would not fit into his world.
But I needed that invite.
I didn’t want to lead him on. But at the same time, I didn’t want to offend him.
“I can see doubts in your eyes, so let’s start from somewhere.” He pulled out his cellphone and sent me a text.”I just sent you my house address. Come over tonight. Spend the night with me and I’ll send the invite to the Sullivans.”
I wasn’t sure I was going to go over to his house.
I needed to think about it.
But I needed that invite, asap and so I nodded.
“Okay. But you have to send the invite first.”
“Deal. I’ll be waiting for you by 8:pm tonight.”
His eyes were clearly warning me not to disappoint him.
***********************
Lucien was having a meeting at the company.
The construction company was still having crisis and suffering huge losses.
If he couldn’t get his hand on that resort project then he was scared that they could go bankrupt.
Currently, he was having a meeting with his team to find another way forward because he was sure that getting an invite was impossible now.
Suddenly, his secretary rushed into the office, holding a laptop and looking very excited.
“Sir Lucien…”
Lucien frowned at him.”How dare you interrupt such an important meeting?!”
“Mont Group just sent the bidding paperwork.”
Lucien froze in disbelief.
“What? Show me!”
He quickly checked the email and sure enough, they really got an invite from the Mont Group.
They’ve finally gotten the chance to compete.
Relief washed through Lucien but he still had questions.
“Why did Mr Dumont suddenly change his mind?”
The secretary was still very excited.
“I guess he got impressed by you. I mean you went there for two days straight. He must have seen your sincerity.”
Everyone started to shower praises on Lucien.
“With you as our general manager, this company will definitely soared.”
“You’re a great man, Sir Lucien.”
But Lucien knew this wasn’t his doing.
Heck, he didn’t even get the opportunity to talk to Mr Dumont.
But Aurora had gone there today.
Could it be that she was able to convince him?
He had thought Aurora would get kicked out just like he was.
How could she have had the chance to talk to Mr Dumont and convince him to send the invite?
Or was it just a coincidence?
Maybe Mr Dumont decided to change his mind on his own.
Lucien couldn’t understand why but he had an unsettling feeling about this.
