Dominic’s POV
I suddenly remembered something.
That night, months ago, when Sophie had a fever, she talked in her sleep.
"Go away, go away, where are you taking me?"
"No, I won’t go to this house. This is not my home."
"Don’t come over here, please let me go. I want to go home, I miss my parents..."
At the time, I thought it was nothing more than a fever-induced nightmare. But now? Now, I knew better.
I glanced at Sophie, who was still frowning over her lost memories.
"Do you remember what you said in your sleep?" I asked.
She blinked, confused. "What did I say in my sleep? Sir, I don’t remember."
I leaned back against the couch, watching her carefully. "When you first came to my house, you had a fever one night. You said you had a nightmare about someone trying to take you away... They wanted to make you a child bride."
