Chapter 3

A prince saving Cinderella is a fairy tale. But a princess saving a broke boy? That's pure realism. As we spent more time together, I realized he had nothing but that face. He even started probing for details about my family's background and tried to get his hands on our money. But hey, as a seasoned face-con, a good-looking face and a nice body were enough for me. It's not like we were going to get married anyway. Right? On the day of our three-month anniversary, we agreed to meet at 5 p.m. at the restaurant where we first met. For the occasion, I carefully did my makeup and put on a new dress. I left the house at a quarter past four. Though I had many bad habits as a rich girl, being late was something I absolutely hated—so I never was. But Nathan was late. I waited at the café, bored out of my mind, until 5:15 p.m., and Nathan still hadn't shown up. I finished the coffee in front of me and decided not to wait any longer. The moment I stood up, the world started spinning. Then everything went black. I lost consciousness. Great. I really did fall into the gutter and got my shoes soaked at the shore. I had thought he was just some clueless idiot— never expected this idiot to think he was Sun Wukong, capable of wreaking havoc in Heaven. And the price of falling for him was ending up tied to a chair, watching this monkey put on a "real and fake Monkey King" act right in front of me. Honestly, Nathan did have a good body. Fair, smooth skin. Clearly defined abs. I stared at Nathan's body, completely distracted, not even paying attention to what he was saying. Until he flew into a rage and kicked me in the leg. It really hurt. My already numb leg was jolted awake by the pain, and I gritted my teeth through the sharp ache as I lifted my head. "Nathan, let me go." Nathan froze for a moment. Maybe he didn't expect me to expose him so suddenly. But he kept acting. "Who's Nathan?! Tell me your bank card password right now! Or I'll kill you!" "Oh? Then go ahead and kill me." I suddenly lowered my head and squeezed out two tears. "My mom cut off my card. I don't want to live anymore anyway." "Just go ahead and kill me." Nathan was stunned. This scene wasn't in the script he had planned. After sleeping with him so many times, I knew exactly how his brain worked. "Your mom… cut off your card?" Nathan finally managed to speak after a while. "Yeah," I said as I forced out more tears. "I fell in love with a guy, and my dad didn't approve, so he stopped my card." "Who did you fall in love with?" "You! You bastard, and you still tied me up!" Nathan froze again. Tsk tsk tsk, he really couldn't keep up. Just as I thought—aside from his looks, he was completely useless.
