Chapter 16
When Jason said that, Samantha didn’t press further, though her mood was clearly off. She’d already checked the balcony—nobody there. She’d waited a long time near the bathroom too—still no one. It was obvious Jason had lied.
And then there was Denise—smiling like nothing happened. Samantha couldn’t help but feel something was going on between them.
But with both families around, she couldn’t explode on the spot. If not for that, knowing her temper, she’d have already slapped Denise right across the face.
So the dinner dragged on with everyone pretending like everything was fine, while they were actually all thinking about something else.
Denise, bored out of her mind, was getting ready to leave when Samantha suddenly blocked her way. Looked like she’d been waiting for this moment.
"Denise, you little snake. Don’t even think about leaving. We’ve got things to settle," Samantha snapped.
