"I've got something going on. Just grab some breakfast outside, okay?" Denise tossed out the words casually before heading out.
She was uneasy. She had no clue what Margaret wanted to talk about, though it probably had something to do with the recent mess with the Moore Group.
Still, Margaret had always treated her well—like her own daughter, really. So no matter what, Denise felt she had to go see her.
After her visit to the Harringtons’ yesterday, she’d more or less figured things out. The old lady pulling her into family matters last-minute? Looked more like a move to show her how tough things were—hoping she’d back off on her own.
As for Sophia, she had three days. That deadline was creeping up fast. If Sophia gave in, then Jason’s crisis could be lifted.
So yeah, Denise was waiting—waiting to see if Sophia would budge.
