Chapter 24-2
Marley recoiled backwards when a homeless man came out of the shadows of the alley they were passing. He was taller than even Aiden and was wearing tattered clothes over skin with dirt patches all over.
Aiden was shoving himself between them, glaring the guy down, "Eyes to yourself," he hissed.
They tried to keep walking, but the man stepped in front of them. There were some people around, but nobody cared — this was a common occurrence in a city like this.
Aiden shoved Marley behind him, "I suggest you back the fuck off before I have to do something about it." Marley locked a fist around the fabric of the back of his shirt as a silent warning.
The man leaned around Aiden to give Marley a toothless smile, "You can't share? I bet I can put that mou-"
Marley didn't get to hear what he was going to say next, because Aiden's arm shot back and he punched the guy in the jaw. Marley gasped in shock, "Aiden!" She shrieked.
