Chapter 9-P4
Lucas laughed, loudly. Aiden raised an eyebrow at her, heavily amused right as he was being splashed on the side of the face. His blonde best friend appeared beside him with laughter of his own. "A marshmallow? This psycho asshole? Not a chance. The guy can singlehandedly bulldoze through our entire defensive line without skipping a beat. Hell, he walks around like he'll punch everybody in the face if they look at him the wrong way."
"Something he has done to about three people I know," Lucas added, before he and Leo were greeting each other, too. It was Marley's turn to raise an eyebrow at Aiden, who handed her the water bottle in his hands. "Past tense," he assured her with a heart-stopping, teeth-bearing grin. "I've got a promise to keep now. Water? It's sealed."
Marley took it gratefully, still out of breath from their game. "Thanks," she whispered, being careful in only staring at his face, and nowhere else. She cracked open the bottle, smiling up at him.
