Chapter 17
From a stranger's perspective, Phyllis felt sorry for Leo. But as a savior and someone who'd been saved in return, she sincerely hoped he could let go of his old obsession.
"Leo, the world doesn't revolve around just one person. What I mean is, you don't have to fixate on me. Why not experience something else?"
She gently brushed away his tears with her fingertips, and there was a different kind of softness that filled her expression.
Leo closed his eyes, greedily savoring the moment. It was just a simple gesture, but to him, it felt like pure happiness.
The atmosphere was perfect until a sudden knock on the door shattered it.
When Leo saw who it was, his expression instantly returned to cold indifference. "Who said you could come in? Are all the rules for nothing?"
