Garcia's POV
I couldn't get Zane out of my head—not for a single damn second. Even after I agreed to cancel the contract like he asked, the pull I felt toward him only grew stronger. The deal was simple: we'd go our separate ways, no interference, no contact. But I couldn't help myself. I kept tabs on him. I followed him from a distance and watched him pour everything into training.
The day of the match finally arrived. Part of me hoped he would reach out and ask me to be there. But he didn't. Instead, he called Bruno and invited him to watch the match.
It stung more than I expected. My chest ached with it. Had I hurt him so deeply that he couldn't even stand to see me? But he still kept Bruno close.
The jealousy was bitter in my throat. I wanted to storm over, drag him back, and force him to face me. But I held back.
I needed to be patient. One wrong move, and he'd slip even further away. So I decided I would go with Bruno and watch the match.
