Theodore’s POV
I stood in the background behind Olivia Bronson as she addressed the excited crowd in front of her. The forehead crown had weaved its glowing light onto my forehead this morning as if the Goddess was helping accessorize my royal robes for the occasion. Though my favorite accessory, of course, was the three-month-old baby I was bouncing in my arms, here for her first appearance in public.
Riley Fairweather Donovan was named for the man who gave his life for hers, for my mother’s side of the family who was more family to me than the one who raised me, and for our country’s first High Queen and Riley’s mother. My daughter drooled in my arms, innocent to the tragedies that took place during her gestation and the trauma of her birth. She reminded me of the goodness that still existed.
