That afternoon, Cassidy finished one exam and walked out of the classroom. She opened her WhatsApp and saw a message from Stefan. "The transfer has been arranged." Below it were two photos of Kate lying in a hospital bed in Haven Hospital. Doctors and nurses stood around her. The room was clearly private. The furniture looked complete, and the space looked clean and quiet. It looked like a VIP room. He had spent money again. Cassidy felt embarrassed. She felt bad for troubling Stefan so much. Even though they were legally married, they barely knew each other. She had only helped him deal with family pressure, yet she kept receiving benefits from him. No matter how she looked at it, Stefan was the one losing out. Cassidy typed a reply. "Thank you, Stefan." No response came. He was likely busy. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked forward. Just then, Isaac caught up to her. "Cass, wait for me." She didn't slow down. "Cass, let's have dinner together tonight," h
