I stared at him in shock, I had no idea what to say once he said the word, "father". I glanced at Arabella to see her watching us with nervous yet hopeful eyes. I looked back at Vincent, come to think of it, he looked like me. Our facial features weren't exactly the same, I'm guessing I'm a mix of him and my mother. I leaned against the headboard and asked the one question I've been dying to know. "Why weren't you there my whole childhood?" I asked quietly.
He looked at me with guilty eyes, "I wanted to raise you, but your step-father would have killed me. It didn't take a genius to know that he would hate my guts since I'm the man his wife slept with. Uh, how is your mother?"
I clenched my jaw, I didn't want to tell him and cause him to feel horrible, but he deserved to know. I bit my lip, "She's dead, he killed her." I told him.
