That’s why you’re able to unscrupulously abandon her and hurt her.” Adrian shook his head. He did not know if he was criticizing himself or criticizing Jasper.     

“Enough of that! She’s just an idiot who lost her memory…” Jasper growled in agitation.

But his voice was hoarse, and it slowly drifted off.

“Yes, Jasper. You’re free now. The waters of the Eternity River are very deep. She had no intention of living.”

Adrian had left. Jasper was alone in the kitchen as he leaned against the wall and smoked.

Summer was gone.

“Jaz, you said that you would take me to the ocean. Is that still happening?”

“Damn it!”

There was such a huge pang in Samson’s heart that his eyes had turned red. He anxiously grabbed a plaster to cover the wound on the back of Summer’s hand. He then forcefully pulled the trembling girl into his embrace. “Sum, I’m here. Don’t... don’t be afraid.”
“Ah!” Summer growled. She was having a mental breakdown, and she was trying to free herself from Samson’s embrace with force.
It was very hard for her to accept her newfound memories.

Summer’s screams were incredibly shrill. She was crying incessantly, and every time she screamed, Samson felt as though his heart was being sliced with a blade.
“Sum, don’t be afraid...”
Other than comforting Summer, Samson did not know what else he could do.
“Get lost!” As though she had gone crazy, Summer pushed Samson away. She was staggering as she tried to get out of bed.
“Ah!” Summer stood barefoot on the floor. Suddenly, she broke down again, curling up and crying loudly.
Why? Why did she have to remember?

“Sum…” Samson’s hands were a little numb. He did not know what to do as he stood behind Summer.
“Why, why didn’t you find me earlier…?” Summer’s eyes were red as she raised her head to look at Samson. Her words were laced with rage and hatred.
Samson’s hands became increasingly stiff, and the atmosphere in the bedroom was very dreary for a long time. “Sorry…”
He did not know what else to do other than to apologize.
It was all his fault. He was not able to find her from the beginning.

Summer forcefully started pulling her hair out. Everything that had happened for the past year was like the harshest punishment in the world. Those memories sliced through her mind over and over again, torturing her nerves and paining her to no end.

Summer could not help but cry out loudly and forcefully curled herself up in a corner. She did not want Samson to come near her.
She could not really accept this. She could not accept what had happened for the past year.

She was the apple of Samson’s eye, his spoiled princess.

How could she have fallen in love with someone else after she had lost her memory and reduced herself to such a lowly existence?
She could not accept it. No way.

Samson felt as though a knife was being pushed into his heart. He sucked in a sharp breath and slowly retreated from the room.
He needed to give Summer the space to come to terms with what had happened.
“Young master, Miss Plath has been without her past memories before this, and when people who lose their memory all of a sudden would go into a very anxious and frightened state. During that time… they would rely greatly on the people around them who they deem trustable.”
The doctor paused for a moment and continued, “She might have regained her memories because of the sudden shock of drowning. This is an extremely huge blow to her, both spiritually and psychologically. It seems that the things Miss Plath had gone through for the past year is causing her extreme pain. If she isn’t capable of enduring it, I’m afraid that it would be very… dangerous.”
The doctor held Summer’s MRI scan and studied it for a very long time. He then pointed carefully at the blood clot. “It has been pressing on her nerves for a long time, and she must not experience extreme emotions because it would be very dangerous.”
Samson sat on the couch in a daze, and his fingers were trembling a little as the doctor spoke.
Summer blamed him. She blamed him for taking too long to look for her.
