The air between Jeanette and William stayed heavy until a ringtone broke the silence.
William let out a quiet breath of relief and glanced at his phone. It was Giselle.
He had never found his ringtone so welcome. He answered almost without thinking.
Jeanette frowned and watched him.
She didn't know what the person on the other end was saying, but William's expression grew a shade more serious before he said, "I'll be right there."
He hung up and looked back at her, his tone carrying a hint of apology. "Sorry. Giselle just fainted. I have to go check on her. As for the divorce... We'll talk about it later."
