Chapter 166 Atone for Her
A chill ran through Jeanette's body. She took a deep breath before saying, "Alright, Marcus. Just come back for now."
After all, there wouldn't be anything left for them to uncover even if he stayed for any longer.
Marcus understood what Jeanette was implying. Sighing softly, he said, "Don't worry too much, Jean. Maybe…it really was just an accident?"
But both of them knew deep down that the medical examiner wouldn't have skipped the autopsy if it were truly an accident.
Still, there was nothing Marcus could do other than to offer Jeanette some comfort.
She hummed a reply before ending the call. Her mind was a mess, and she couldn't sit still.
Jeanette had a habit of distracting herself with something else whenever her anxiety started acting up.
Since there was no use overthinking, she decided to step out and head straight to Isita Conference, in hopes of calming herself down with work.
Jeanette didn't expect someone to block her path even before she stepped into the entrance.
