Chapter 25 Check If She's Actually Sick
William's brows drew tight. He said nothing and carried Giselle away to find a doctor.
Jeanette watched his back recede and felt nothing but irony.
An hour later, William put Giselle on a private jet, and they both flew home together, leaving Jeanette alone on the island.
Jeanette wouldn't have found out about it so quickly if not for the anonymous account that pinged her again with a photo. It showed Giselle leaning against William's chest on a private jet, a faint smile playing at her lips.
Jeanette stared at the photo until every detail was etched in her mind. Only then did she force herself to look away.
The memory of him tending her wound in the dim room was wiped away by this photo. Whatever trace of attachment she had left vanished.
She could not let a fleeting moment of tenderness reignite anything. That would make her a fool.
She closed her eyes, gathered herself, and then began packing. There was no point staying for this "honeymoon" any longer.
