Erlan's POV
I got into the car and headed home, my mind full of today's events. Kayra's case turned out to be more complicated than I expected. I knew Kate must be waiting for me in her apartment with feelings of anxiety and worry. The news of Kayra and Darwis' arrest would at least make her feel calmer and able to continue her life as usual.
When I arrived at the apartment, I immediately met Kate. She seemed to be sitting in the living room, her eyes still wide open, clearly not asleep.
"Erlan, what took you so long? I thought you wouldn't come home," Kate asked in a worried tone.
"I'm sorry, Kate, for forgetting to give you news. I wanted to tell you what happened all day," I said, feeling guilty for forgetting to give her news. I glanced at the clock which was already showing two in the morning.
"You haven't slept yet?" I asked again, feeling even more guilty.
"I was waiting for you to come home. I was afraid something would happen to you. I was even ready to go to the police statio
